Katy Trail, Dallas, Texas, USA
Long time residents of Dallas will almost certainly know where the Ice House is located along the Katy Trail. This popular walking route cuts through the very middle of Dallas and skirts around Highland Park where walkers make the stop at this popular pit stop.
As well as being a great place to stop and get a drink with friends, there is also quite a bit of history here. The Katy Trail used to be a rail-track and the ice house was where they stored ice that would be sent around Dallas. There is even one of the old locomotives on display at the main entrance.
This just happens to be one of those unassuming venues that represents the best of the USA and is somewhere it’s easy to make memories.
All weather
This truly is an all-seasons venue. Its glorious in the Summer, and in the chilly winters the outdoor heaters keep you cosy.
BBQ
They have BBQ. And at DRW we do love good BBQ. Plenty of other good eats too.
Dogs welcome
Exactly what we like. Doggo’s are there and made very welcome. Dallas is such a dog-centric city and the Ice House is very much a great place to take your well behaved pups. This adds further to the appeal as a resting point for those taking long walks with their dogs along the trail.
Beers and drinks
Excellent range of craft beers, usual favourites and the standard range of soft and café beverages. A true watering hole.
