Utterly different! Crazy concept that really is something unique to Dubai. For those that remember the ‘good ol era’ of vinyl will remember Saturday mornings pouring through stacks of vinyl in record shops. This concept bar takes that experience and reminds those of us that loved that part of our lives and brings it right back with gusto.
Speakeasy
On the first floor of The Pullman Hotel in Business Bay, Dubai is what appears to be an old-time record shop. Kitted out with vinyl to buy and that 1980’s style white-wall with holes at the ready for positioning shelves where needed. When the staff meet you it is through a secret door and into the bar beyond.
Sound quality
Absolutely crystal clear. This is a bar designed and crafted by music lovers. Custom speakers are housed in wood and perfectly tuned for the guests to enjoy.
Vinyl
There is no digital DJ’s here. Everything is analogue and still with the direct drive turntables. Dj’s arrive lugging the large heavy cases of their own and behind the booth is a shelf full of vinyl owned by the bar to comploment the choices on the night. Our favourite moment was seeing the DJ use the ‘half telephone’ instead of modern headsets for the beat-match.
Food & Drink
A perfect Asian inspired menu of bites. Wicked cocktails. And mixologists that love to go off the menu.
