A small pebble beach on the beautiful Croatian island of Hvar, famous for its breathtaking natural scenery and crystal clear and shimmering blue waters. Set in a secluded cove surrounded by pine trees, Pokonji dol is located just 5km outside of Hvar Town making it the perfect location for a beach day.
Irresistibly calm and shallow waters make this a great place to swim. The long days of Summer sun gently heat the water, making it warm and inviting from June through to September.
Food & drink
Set directly on the beach, Mustačo is an awesome little beach bar and restaurant that serves cocktails, lunches and dinners that you can eat at your sunbed or under the shade of thatched parasols. It’s a great place to shelter from the sun with a coffee or beer.
The main draw of Pokonji Dol is the stunning natural surroundings. The water is an incredible shade of turquoise that contrasts beautifully with the white pebbles and green pine trees. The steep cliffs on either side of the cove give it a protected, secluded feel. It’s a picturesque Mediterranean scene.
The beach offers everything you need to relax in comfort without feeling over commercialised. Settle in for the day by renting a sunbed and parasol from the friendly team on the beach. Don’t forget to take cash for this.
How to get there
Located 5km outside of Hvar Town, Pokonji dol can be reached on foot in 30 minutes or via car in 10 minutes (there’s even a free car park). If travelling on foot, you can take a shortcut up and over the hill or enjoy the beautiful walk along the coastal path. It’s well worth the journey.
