Omniyat Hotel, Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The district of Business Bay in Dubai hosts the Omniyat Hotel which while being very striking in its design has the restaurant Basko which serves a fine brunch in the afternoons on Saturday.
This is certainly a premium and well priced brunch for the quality of the food, drink and service. Stick around afterwards for cocktails at their speak-easy upstairs. It’s also a great place for regular evening dining which suits small friendly groups and couples.
Atmosphere
Styling is slightly Mediterranean meets Art-deco with plenty of tall tables and a comfortable, relaxed place to dine and relax.
Food
There is no holding back on the menu for the brunch here. We tried the steak and a variety of starters. It is the deserts that steel the show which are elegantly presented and taste as good (if not better) than they look.
Drinks
It’s a good broad menu with premium drinks. What was really different is their Aperol Spritz. Somehow this has a pearlescent sheen to it and is served in generous amounts.
Service
The staff are really enthusiastic and hale from various different countries. All are happy to chat and talk through the menu and check in on you regularly.
